Oils
My mother enrolled me in art classes as a 9 year old. I sold my first piece at 11 and by the time I hit my teens, the local art shows would not allow me to compete in the junior divisions, stating I had an unfair advantage. So my mother put me in the adult competition and she took just as much pride in the red ribbon as I did.
Oils have always been my first love but as I grew older, raised a family and became busy with all of life's demands, I found them hard to keep up with. Age, maybe wisdom or just dumb luck, had me trying out other mediums that allowed me to remain creative but could be packed up easily in case someone needed the living room for a sweet sixteen birthday party. Now I own a corner of the house, jealously guarding it for myself, I can focus on the medium and use up the multitude of canvas' I have accumulated at every art store sale I have come across. Now I just need a bigger house with more wall space to hang them!!
